A gunshot wound was discovered in a motorist who was found dead after a rollover crash in La Mirada on Sunday, April 3, authorities said.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies responded to a crash in the 13000 block of Valley View Avenue around 12:20 p.m., the Sheriff’s Department said in a news release. Deputies found the car’s sole occupant, a man, and pronounced him dead at the scene, authorities said. Deputies initially believed it was solely a traffic collision fatality, the release said.
Personnel with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical-Coroner arrived and a gunshot wound was found in the man’s upper torso, the Sheriff’s Department said.
The exact nature or circumstances of the shooting were not immediately clear.
No information regarding possible suspects was immediately available. No identifying information for the man was immediately available either.
