After a little more than a decade, Le Pain Quotidien in Fashion Island has closed. A note on its door indicated its last day of service was Sunday, April 24.
“We’ve been lucky to call Fashion Island our home for the past 11 years and humbly thank our guests for helping us build a community in the time we’ve spent in this space,” it read.
The restaurant was a favorite at the shopping center for coffee, pastries and specialty breads with communal seating and baking classes. Founded in Brussels, Belgium, by Alain Coumont, the restaurant chain has 260 locations throughout the world according to its website.
The note was signed, “Your friends at Le Pain Quotidien.” It welcomed regulars to follow on social media and dine at restaurants in L.A. and elsewhere, adding “We look forward to returning back to Orange County soon.”
