It’s music’s biggest night! The 64th Annual Grammy Awards is tonight and to kick it all off, the premiere ceremony announced major wins for several artists.
East L.A.’s very own rock band, Los Lobos included.
Their 18th career album ‘Native Sons’ won the Grammy award for best Americana album at the 2022 premiere ceremony and was nominated alongside Jackson Browne’s ‘Downhill From Everywhere,’ John Hiatt & the Jerry Douglas Band’s ‘Leftover Feelings,’ Allison Russell’s ‘Outside Child’ and Yola’s ‘Stand For Myself.’
The band now has three Grammy awards.
“The concept of this record was gratitude. It was a thank you to the city that we started in and the artists and records that inspired us to try to make a living out of this,” said Los Lobos’ Steve Berlin as he accepted the award on behalf of the rock group.
“I think it’s an important concept. I just want to thank everybody that had anything to do with our career. Next year will be 50 years. It’s amazing to think about. These things never get old, so thank you very much.”
The award-winning rock band took to Twitter to show some love to the Recording Academy and the people of East L.A.
