The OC Health Care Agency reported 142 more cases of the coronavirus on Thursday, April 7, increasing the cumulative total since tracking began in the county to 547,935.
There were 1,810 new cases reported in the last two-week period as of Thursday.
On Thursday, there were 78 people reported in Orange County hospitals with coronavirus, including 16 who needed to be in intensive care units.
The county reported nine more deaths on Thursday, increasing the count of those who have died from the virus in Orange County to 6,919.
The data on deaths in the county is compiled from death certificates, or gathered through the course of case investigations, and can take weeks to process. The most recent death recorded was on March 22.
Of the 6,919 deaths reported from the virus, 1,324 were skilled nursing facility residents, 699 were in assisted living facilities, two were O.C. jail inmates, and 21 were listed as homeless.
It is estimated 537,756 people have recovered from the virus. The count of people who have recovered is based on the prior 28-day cumulative case count.

The OC Health Care Agency also reported 2,276,384 county residents were fully vaccinated as of Thursday. This represents about 70.6% of Orange County’s total population.
There have been 1,244,133 booster doses administered.
