Canyon Hills Presbyterian Church will begin its Easter services at the Oak Canyon Nature Center with a sunrise gathering and the community is invited to worship in the outdoor amphitheater.
These morning services offer an opportunity to worship in the beautiful, serene and natural environment surrounded by impressive oak trees and softly flowing streams, providing extra tranquility to the Easter season. The sunrise service starts at 6:30 a.m. Another outdoor service will be held at 8 a.m.
Music for the morning services will highlight the powerful resurrection story beginning with the 6:30 a.m., service that offers an acoustic worship experience, featuring contemporary songs. Members of Godsend, the church contemporary Christian rock band, will provide the music for the 8 a.m. service.
Those planning to attend either of the morning services are encouraged to bring along coffee or hot chocolate, a blanket and dress warm and casual for the early outside morning weather.
In addition to the services at the nature center, a 10 a.m. service will be held in the church’s Sanctuary, as well as be live streamed. Music for this service will be provided by the Chancel Choir, a brass quartet and Godsend.

Canyon Hills plans egg hunt fun
The Children’s Ministry from Canyon Hills Presbyterian Church will host an Egg-Citing Egg Hunt on Palm Sunday, and all children in the community are invited.
This event begins in the church Fellowship Hall following the 10 a.m.,worship service, beginning with a light breakfast followed by a fun Easter egg hunt. Bags for the egg hunt will be provided.

A tip of the hat to fun
Members of the Anaheim, Orange and Villa Park Women’s Connection will host an Easter celebration on April 11 featuring an Easter fashion show and hat contest.
The luncheon will be at the Black Gold Golf Club, and all women in the community are invited.
Doors open at 10:30 a.m. for shopping with local vendors, followed by the luncheon and program at 11:30 a.m. Guests are encouraged to wear a hat and become part of the fun hat contest, with prizes awarded for the most glamorous, funniest and most unique hat.
The Fab Trio will provide the afternoon’s entertainment. Guest speaker Loretta Hughes will talk about “Joy and Peace in the Storms of Life.” There will also be opportunity drawings and hostess and first-timer gifts. The day culminates at 1:30 p.m.

Library hosts wellness workshop
The Anaheim Public Library is hosting a virtual lunchtime wellness workshop, Art for Healing from Grief: Denial and Anger, at noon on April 18.
This program will focus on the cycle of grief and how to process feelings in stages using art and social support.

Women’s Club dines with favorite crooner
The Anaheim Hills Women’s Club will celebrate Easter during its April 20 luncheon, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Anaheim Hills Golf Club. And all women are invited to attend.
Entertainer Gavin Braun, a multi-talented crooner, is back by popular demand and will sing some favorite songs from the Frank Sinatra era. The day concludes at 2 p.m.

Golf to benefit educational program
Tillys 15th annual charity golf tournament, Tillyana Jones, is scheduled for April 25 at the Mission Viejo Country Club benefiting the Tillys Life Center. Registration is currently open.
The 8 a.m., shotgun style/scramble format includes endless food, beverages, prizes and more. Players have the option to purchase cards for such contests as hole-in-one, putting, chipping, and “straightest drive,” among others.
Proceeds from the event benefit the nonprofit educational program with a mission to help teens overcome serious obstacles they encounter on a daily basis. Programs are available as a high school course either in person or virtual, after-school programs and workshops are also available which are designed to teach such skills as coping with crisis, adopting healthy habits and reaching full potential. Topics cover stress management, bullying, body image, coping mechanisms and much more. Programs are offered throughout Orange County, Riverside, Los Angeles and San Diego.
