A 70-year-old man died after a hit-and-run collision on Yorktown Avenue, east of Newland Street, on Thursday, April 14, Huntington Beach police officials said.
Police responded to the scene just before 5 p.m. where they found the man in the roadway. He was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
Investigators believe a gray vehicle struck the man crossing northbound on Yorktown Avenue outside of an intersection or a marked crosswalk. The driver of the vehicle did not stop.
The victim’s identification was not immediately available, pending next of kin notification.
