Karlee White, Viewpoint: White erupted for a career-high 37 points in a CIF-SS Division 1 final victory over Camarillo, including 20 points in the third quarter. White’s efforts helped Viewpoint’s girls basketball team win its first CIF title. She had 18 points and 10 rebounds in a semifinal win over Long Beach Poly earlier in the week. The Patriots will play at Westchester in the first round of the CIF State SoCal Regional playoffs Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Jo Forman, Montclair: Forman captured the 143-pound individual championship at the CIF State meet for girls wrestling, becoming just the 25th girls wrestler to win at least two state titles. In the final, she jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the opening seconds of the match and held on for a 9-7 victory over Marina’s Alexandra Lopez. Forman registered three pins and another win by decision in her other four matches. She won the 137-pound state title as a freshman in 2020 while wrestling at Upland.

Kimiko Kennedy, Lawndale: Kennedy scored 35 points in the Cardinals’ CIF-SS Division 4AA semifinal win over Heritage and she followed that with 20 points and 13 rebounds in a win over San Bernardino in the 4AA championship game.

Audrey Chen, La Salle: The sophomore guard contributed 17 points and 10 rebounds as she helped the Lancers defeat Cerritos 46-33 in the CIF Southern Section Division 3AA championship game. “I love playing with my team,” Chen said afterward. “They’re really supportive. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without them. We work so well together. I like going up and getting the rebound. I just always want the ball.”

Kaelani Shufeldt, Marina: Shufeldt placed second in the 101-pound division at the CIF State girls wrestling championships to help the Vikings capture the team title. She finished the season with a 47-4 record and ranked eighth in the nation.

Onyekachi Nwanze, Cerritos: Nwanze had eight points, 14 rebounds and three blocks for Cerritos in the CIF Southern Section Division 3AA championship game against La Salle. The Dons lost to the Lancers, 46-33. It was the first CIF-SS final for Cerritos’ girls basketball program.
