The Rams are trading Robert Woods to the Tennessee Titans, taking care of their surplus at the wide-receiver position but losing an L.A. product who was popular with teammates and fans.

The Rams couldn’t confirm the trade was taking place until it is official, which it wasn’t yet Saturday afternoon.

According to ESPN, in return for Woods the Rams will receive the Titans’ sixth-round in the 2023 draft.

It’s the end of a five-year stint with the Rams for Woods, who turns 30 on April 10.

A star at Serra High (Gardena) and USC, Woods started his NFL career with the Bills, and signed with the Rams as a free agent in 2017 to form a productive receiver duo with Cooper Kupp.

But Woods tore an ACL in practice in November and missed the rest of the Rams’ Super Bowl-winning season. The Rams excelled with mid-season acquisition Odell Beckham Jr. in Woods’ role. And this week they signed ex-Bears receiver Allen Robinson as a free agent.

Other teams immediately began inquiring about Woods’ availability.

The 6-foot, 195-pounder was a respected captain in the locker room and consistent on the field, recording 86, 90 and 90 catches in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
