One person died and several others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Los Alamitos on Thursday night, March 3, according to authorities.

Around 6:15 p.m., officers arrived at the intersection of Los Alamitos Boulevard and Katella Avenue where 8 vehicles were involved in the crash, said Sgt. Chris Lee of the Los Alamitos Police Department.

Four people were taken to the hospital, including two with serious injuries, and one person was treated and released at the scene.

One man died, Lee said, though information on the victim was not or what caused the crash or further information  available Thursday night.

Lee said the intersection would remained closed for several more hours while police continued their investigation.
