A 20-year-old San Diego man was arrested this week on suspicion of fighting with another man at a Dana Point Harbor pizza parlor and inflicting injuries that led to the man’s death, authorities said.
The fight occurred at Beach Harbor Pizza in the 34400 block of Golden Lantern about 7 p.m., March 17, Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Carrie Braun said.
Deputies found Michael Terry, 38, of Laguna Niguel with a serious injury and paramedics took him to a hospital, but he died the following morning, Braun said. The type of injury he suffered was not disclosed.
Investigators identified the suspect as Jack Issacson and arrested him Wednesday, March 23, Braun said. There were no surveillance cameras at the restaurant, but she said investigators talked with multiple witnesses.
Detectives were unsure if the two men knew each other. Further circumstances surrounding the fight and what led up to it were not immediately provided.
Issacson, whose occupation was listed as military, was being held on $1 million bail, according to inmate records.
Bran said Issacson was a member of the United States Marine Corps, but it wasn’t immediately known if he was stationed at Camp Pendleton.
He is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
