A fleet of X-Wings, TIE fighters and Star Destroyers is heading back to Disneyland with the return of Hyperspace Mountain as the Anaheim theme park prepares for a series of Star Wars Nites and the Star Wars Celebration.
The Space Mountain indoor roller coaster will close for one day on April 28 and reopen as Hyperspace Mountain for a limited time starting on April 29, according to Disneyland officials.

Disneyland hasn’t said how long Hyperspace Mountain will stay in Tomorrowland this time — but if history is any gauge, you can expect the popular Star Wars overlay to stick around for a while.
Star Wars fans would likely lose their collective Jedi minds if Disneyland pulled Hyperspace Mountain before a series of May dates they’ve had circled on the calendar for a long time.

The late April start date gives Disneyland a few days to absorb the initial crowds sure to turn out for Hyperspace Mountain before the unofficial Star Wars Day on May 4 — as in May the Fourth be with you.
The Star Wars Nite after-hours, separate admission events will run May 3, 4 and 27 at Disneyland. The Star Wars Celebration returns to Anaheim Convention Center on May 26-29.
Disneyland is expected to share more details soon on the limited-time run of Hyperspace Mountain.

The Star Wars-themed overlay of the Space Mountain coaster was first introduced during the 2015 Season of the Force event. Scenes of X-Wings, Starfighters and even the Millennium Falcon flash on the interior walls of Space Mountain as riders race through the dark aboard the indoor coaster. The highlight: A TIE fighter that heads right for the coaster train with an effect reminiscent of the boulder scene in the Indiana Jones Adventure.

The last time Hyperspace Mountain showed up at Disneyland the popular Star Wars overlay stuck around for 8 months during the debut of the park’s Galaxy’s Edge themed land in May 2019.
