Volunteers spread out through Grijalva and Yorba parks in Orange on Saturday to plant dozens of new trees.

The trees were funded by a program aimed at “amplifying” California’s urban forests; some $1.5 million funded planting 2,000 new trees across the state in one day.

In Orange, the planting was made possible through a partnership with West Coast Arborists , with volunteers and city staff helping get the trees in the ground.
