Randy’s Donuts has come to Santa Ana and has planned a grand opening for Tuesday, March 15.
Fans will have to look a bit more carefully for this one as it will not have the giant doughnut sign like its sister restaurant in Costa Mesa. But there’s still cause for great celebration for Randy’s addicts: Kavon Azhir, franchisee of the Santa Ana store, plans to open nine more locations “throughout the Orange County region,” he said in an announcement. “The company has proven it is a staple in the Los Angeles area and soon it will be the same in Orange County,” Azhir said.
Grand opening festivities in Santa Ana will be held from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15. All customers will receive a free raised glazed doughnut from 6 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The shop offers many varieties from humble glazed to devils food, blueberry and bacon maple long john. Expect to find a favorite; there are more than 60 different types of doughnuts and most are under $2. Or try Randy’s Rounds, the brand’s much larger version of a doughnut hole. Randy’s Donuts Santa Ana will serve Randy’s Roast coffee in freshly brewed blends as well as in espressos, cold brews, iced drinks and frappes.
The company owns and operates seven locations throughout Southern California in Inglewood, El Segundo, Torrance, Downey, Pasadena, Santa Monica and Costa Mesa. It’s a fast food legend: The big doughnut at the original location of 805 W. Manchester Blvd. in Inglewood has starred in movies, such as when Iron Man appeared in a scene, sitting in the doughnut; in music videos like Randy Newman’s “I Love L.A.,” and in many television spots. Over the years it’s been decorated during various playoffs to boost the Los Angeles Kings and other teams.
Randy’s immediate plans for expansion in 2022 include the opening of franchise locations in Santa Ana, Burbank and San Diego, and both franchise and company owned stores in Las Vegas.
