Shootings broke out along a stretch of Katella Avenue in front of a bar in an unincorporated area of Anaheim two mornings in a row over the weekend, and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department is looking for suspects in each of them.
In both cases, the victims were left with non-life-threatening injuries near 99 Bottles & Cocktails in the 8900 block of Katella Avenue, in the county area between Anaheim and Stanton.
It’s also unclear in both cases whether the shootings took place on the bar’s property or in the street. Detectives were still investigating both shootings, said Jaimee Blashaw, a Sheriff’s spokeswoman.
In the first shooting on Saturday at 12:15 a.m., a man pulled out a gun and fired at a woman, hitting her once.
That woman was taken to a hospital and was expected to survive, Blashaw said. The man believed to have shot her fled and has not been identified.
In the second shooting on Sunday at 1:53 a.m., a man fired from inside his car at another car, then fled the area. That suspect also has not been identified.
The victim in that shooting, a man, was also expected to survive.
Officials didn’t say why they believe either shooting happened.
