BELLFLOWER — A 32-year-old man who was shot by deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department following a street takeover in Bellflower died Thursday, according to a report from CBS 2.
Sheriff’s homicide investigators responded at 12:10 a.m. Thursday to the intersection of Artesia Boulevard and Downey Avenue where several cars had taken over the intersection and were doing “doughnuts,” according to police and a report by ABC7.
After authorities took control of the intersection and a crash occurred, the man was shot by a deputy, said Deputy Miguel Meza of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
It is unknown what led to the shooting or if the suspect was armed.
The suspect was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
