Members of the Anaheim Hills Rotary Club have many fun activities planned for the 12th annual Easter Festival on April 10 at Ronald Reagan Park. And the community is invited to come join the fun.
Admission is free for the 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. event, and some of the scheduled activities include egg decorating, a free photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny, games, crafts, face painting, a balloon artist and the egg hunt.
There will also be various vendors on site, a silent auction and a raffle, as well as snack and drinks available to purchase throughout the event.

Book sale to benefit Canyon Hills branch
The Friends of Canyon Hills Library will host a flash book sale next month at the Canyon Hills Library branch.
This two-day event will feature a wide variety of used books including fiction, art, children’s books, games, puzzles, DVDs and CDs and much more all at bargain prices.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on April 14 and 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on April 15.
Proceeds from the sale support the various ways the Friends group enhances programs and services at the library for the community to enjoy. Some of these have included supplementing book and magazine collections, purchasing books for the monthly book discussions and new electronic equipment, as well as helping to offset the cost of a variety of library programs.
Additionally, the Friends-sponsored “Rushing to Read Book Nook” located in the branch lobby will be open during library hours – check out the various Easter and Passover books available for purchase. Be sure to stop by the glass cases in the lobby for rare books and gift items.

Blood driving planned April 20
A blood drive, hosted by First Team Real Estate, is scheduled from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on April 20 at the Anaheim Hills office. The community is encouraged to participate.
This blood drive is being held in conjunction with the American Red Cross in an effort to help overcome the severe blood shortages the organization is reporting. Those wishing to participate should make an appointment at OCBloodDrive.com, use sponsor code FTREA.

Fashionable fundraiser benefits CHOC
The 17th annual premier “Pursenally Yours” fundraising event sponsored by The Littlest Angel Guild of Children’s Hospital of Orange County is scheduled for 10 a.m. April 30.
This is the first year the “When You Wish Upon A Star”-themed fashionable fundraiser will be held in the Pat Nixon Gardens of the Richard Nixon Library & Museum. Tickets are currently available.
Guests have the opportunity to bid in a silent auction full of unique designer and vintage handbags and distinctive gift baskets, as well as participate in a live auction that includes great trips, big-ticket items and exciting experiences. Mystery grab bags will also be available.
Each auction winner will have their name entered into a drawing for a chance to win an exquisite piece of jewelry designed and donated by David Hayman Jewelers of Yorba Linda.
The $100 per person cost to attend also includes a gourmet luncheon prepared by Jason’s Catered Events of Fullerton. All proceeds benefit CHOC’s Child Life Department at Mission and the CHOC Clinics located throughout Orange County.

Help Marines and families celebrate Easter
The Patriots 4 Pendleton committee for the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit is currently sponsoring an Easter basket and gift card drive for the families and single Marines from the unit.
The nonprofit is asking for donations of wrapped Easter baskets for kids or $20 gift cards for teens of the families of those currently stationed at Camp Pendleton, as well as $25 gift cards the single Marines who are stationed there. The donation deadline is April 5.

Students cook up creativity
Students from Marcy Hail’s home economics class at El Rancho Charter School recently displayed their creativity during Open House, showcasing a variety of uniquely decorated, homemade multi-layered cakes the students made with various themes.
Cake decorating is just one of the fun aspects of the life skills students have learned during home economics classes. El Rancho Charter School also offers a variety of electives including woodshop, photoshop, creative writing, music and performing arts that are fun for students and that also provide important learning opportunities.
