Dan Albano’s Diamond Club outstanding softball players last week, March 14:

Brooklyn Carreon, Whittier Christian, Sr., P: The Utah-bound ace tossed a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts and drove in two runs with a push-bunt in a 3-0 win against Canyon in the quarterfinals of the Dave Kops Tournament of Champions.

Eleni Katsivalis, Yorba Linda, Sr. The Columbia-bound left-handed hitter went 4 for 4 with two home runs, a double and six RBIs in a 17-1 win against Valencia.

Madi McDonnell, Capistrano Valley, So., P: McDonnell allowed two runs on six hits and struck out eight in a 4-2 win against then-No. 2 and undefeated Mission Viejo.

Sydney Somerndike, Villa Park, Sr., P: The Arizona-bound ace fired a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts to led the Spartans to a 3-1 win against Murrieta Mesa in the final of the Dave Kops Tournament of Champions.

Jasmyn Yessian, Beckman, Jr.: Yessian went 3 for 5 with a home run and four RBIs in a 15-6 win against Dana Hills, sparking a 3-0 week by the Patriots.
