ORANGE — Rain and lightning forced the CIF-SS Division 1 boys soccer playoff game between No. 3 seed Santa Ana Valley (24-4-2) and host Villa Park (19-4-1) to be postponed Tuesday night at El Modena High School.

The second-round playoff game was rescheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 16 at El Modena. It will be played after the Division 1 girls second-round game between Claremont and Villa Park, which starts at 5:15 p.m.

“It’s a good call for both of the teams for the safety of the players,” Villa Park boys coach Fidel Alatorre said.

The winner of the boys game Wednesday will advance to the quarterfinal round to face the winner of the Loyola-JSerra contest.
