A Nissan SUV was struck by a train at Main Street and West Alvarez Avenue in Orange just after 1 p.m. Saturday, Orange Police Department officials said.
A solo male occupant was ejected from the vehicle onto the sidewalk and transported to a hospital in critical condition, said Sgt. Phil McMullin, a spokesperson for the department.
The circumstances of the collision were under investigation.
Because of the crash, Main Street was closed in both directions from West Collins Avenue to West Alvarez Avenue for the afternoon.
