SANTA ANA — A 39-year-old man was shot to death in Santa Ana, authorities said Sunday.
Officers were sent to a report of a shooting victim in the area of Maple and Pine streets at about 11:45 p.m. Saturday. They found Cesar Fierros Gonzalez suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body, the Santa Ana Police Department reported.
Paramedics rushed the Santa Ana resident to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

It was the second fatal shooting in Santa Ana on Saturday.
Police received a call at 12:26 a.m. regarding a male shooting victim in the 800 block of South Townsend Street. Arriving paramedics pronounced the victim, who also had a gunshot wound to the upper body, dead at the scene. Officials as of Sunday evening had not released the identity of the victim.
