GARDEN GROVE — A collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck Tuesday night left the bike’s rider dead in Garden Grove.
Garden Grove Police and paramedics from the Orange County Fire Authority responded at 8:26 p.m. Tuesday to the intersection of Chapman Avenue and Knott Street, where a man riding a motorcycle was heading eastbound on Chapman through the intersection of Knott when he collided with a pickup making a left turn from westbound Chapman to southbound Knott, said traffic investigator Dan Mihalik of the Garden Grove Police Department.
The motorcyclist, a 56-year-old Garden Grove resident, sustained severe injuries in the crash, Mihalik said. He was taken to a hospital where he died of his injuries.
Garden Grove’s Neighborhood Traffic Unit is conducting the investigation of the collision. Police believe alcohol and/or drugs is not believed to be a factor in the collision.
