A 56-year-old motorcyclist died after he collided with a pickup truck on Chapman Avenue in Garden Grove on Tuesday night, Feb. 8, authorities said.

The Garden Grove man was riding eastbound on Chapman just after 8:25 p.m. when the truck, traveling westbound, attempted to make a left turn onto Knott Street, Lt. Mario Martinez said.

The motorcyclist hit the truck, Martinez said, dying at the scene.

Alcohol and drugs were not believed to be factors in the collision, Martinez said.

The motorcyclist was not publicly identified by police pending notification of his relatives.
