The Super Bowl is nearly here. That means in addition to the football, there are A LOT of events with notable musicians happening all around the area.
The biggest is the Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest, which taps Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Miley Cyrus, Green Day and…Machine Gun Kelly, among others, for a three-day event at the downtown Los Angeles arena I now refer to as “The Crypt.”
Richard Guzman has rounded up the biggest events that the public can attend this weekend. Meanwhile, if you want to talk about the halftime show, Peter Larsen dives into what we think we’ll see on Sunday with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar.

Indie band The Drums has teamed up with Goldenvoice to do their own festival outdoors at the Shrine Auditorium. Dubbed the Abysmal Fest, it will bring more than a dozen bands to the venue on July 9. See the lineup and find out how to go.
