Two people were killed and another person was critically injured in a six-vehicle crash on the San Diego (405) Freeway Sunday morning in Seal Beach that may have been triggered by a wrong-way driver, authorities said.
The crash on the southbound freeway at the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway occurred a little before 1:30 a.m., the California Highway Patrol reported.
Firefighters and paramedics dispatched to the location at 1:32 a.m. reported two people dead at the scene, said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Greg Barta.
Paramedics rushed one critically injured person to a hospital, Barta said. Two people were evaluated at the scene and chose to not be transported to an area hospital.
No further information was immediately available.
