GLENDALE, Ariz. — Rams right tackle Rob Havenstein and cornerback Dont’e Deayon were placed on the COVID-19 reserve list Sunday, a day after running back Darrell Henderson was put on the list.

The list is for players who test positive for the coronavirus or are found to have had contact with someone who did, and teams don’t generally say which is the case.

The NFL’s coronavirus protocols require players who have tested positive to record two negative tests within a 24-hour period to be eligible to come off the list.

That meant the Rams (8-4) could be without three important players when they face the NFC West-leading Arizona Cardinals (10-2) Monday night.

Henderson, the team’s leading rusher, and Havenstein, who has played in every game in 2020 and 2021, are the first two Rams starters to go on the COVID-19 list during the 2021 season.

Deayon (from Summit High in Rialto) has started one game this season and played 60% of defensive snaps or more in six games.

Sunday’s moves could further test the Rams’ depth on the offensive line and in the secondary.

The line, which has been healthy for the season’s first 11 games, already was preparing to play with Coleman Shelton at center in place of Brian Allen, who is listed as doubtful for the Monday night game after spraining his right knee on the first play of the Rams’ victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars last Sunday.

Joe Noteboom and Bobby Evans are the next tackles on the depth chart. Evans started seven games at right tackle in 2019 when Havenstein was out with a knee injury.

The secondary was already going to be without cornerback Robert Rochell after the rookie went on injured reserve Saturday with a chest injury. Rochell’s playing time on defense had dwindled in the past month.
