Mater Dei linebacker David Bailey, who led the CIF section and state champion Monarchs in tackles and sacks, signed with Stanford.

Bailey (6-5, 225) had scholarship offers from every school that thought it had a chance to sign him. When Stanford offered, Bailey’s mind was settled quickly.

“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” Bailey said Wednesday. “I had to take it.”
