A contemporary-style Palm Springs home owned by best-selling novelist Andrew Neiderman is on the market for $2.95 million.

Neiderman, 81, is the author of more than 44 thrillers. The 1997 supernatural horror film “Devil’s Advocate” was based on his novel of the same name and starred Keanu Reeves, Al Pacino and Charlize Theron.

Completed in 2001, the walled and gated 6,000-square-foot house has four bedrooms and six bathrooms. It sits tucked behind gates on a half-acre-plus in guard-gated Andreas Hills with an oasis-style backyard featuring a pool and spa, outdoor kitchen and expansive lawn.

Covered lounge areas are cooled by ceiling fans and warmed by an outdoor fireplace, set against unobstructed mountain views. There’s also an in-ground fire pit.

Inside the house, open-plan living and high ceilings dominate common areas.

The family room flows into the eat-in kitchen, with high-end appliances, a utility island and a separate breakfast bar.

For formal meals, there’s the dining room.

Fireplaces anchor the living room and primary suite, an expansive space with a spa-inspired bathroom with a jetted tub and a separate glass-enclosed shower.

There’s also a gym and home office.

The house comes with solar panels for 90% off-grid capacity.

Greg Robertson of Better Homes and Garden Real Estate is the listing agent.

Neiderman and his wife, Diane, purchased the property in 2001 for $1.269 million, records show. In August 2021, they listed the home for $3.4 million and then dropped the price to its current ask in October.
