The pandemic couldn’t stop it last year and the rain wasn’t going to spoil the holiday cheer this season for the annual community brunch one Anaheim downtown restaurant has organized for more than a decade.
K&A Cafe owner Kathy Cervantes founded the event with her husband 13 years ago, serving breakfast for those looking for a community connection on Christmas Eve and making sure thousands of children visited with Santa Claus and received a gift.
Last year the event was turned into a drive-thru, but this year it returned to the Center Street Promenade.

Two “wrapping parties” were hosted earlier this month as volunteers prepared the gifts, provided with the help of several Anaheim nonprofits and companies. A couple thousand gifts had already been delivered earlier to families that needed a little extra help this holiday.
